A few words about transportation in and around Santa Cruz: it's a lot less crazy than in Bangladesh and way more crazy than in Ukraine. Photos don't quite capture the frequent heart-dropping near-crashes , nor the bus drivers' supreme confidence that their brakes will work absolutely.
Instead, here are two types of transportation: first, a motorcycle-taxi service in Pailon, and second, a German Mennonite taxi on the other side of the same street (we haven't used either type).
