County Fair, year two

Last year when we attended the county fair in these parts, we were a bit shocked by it all: the clothes, the weight, the kids running around, the reduced number of everything from animals to booths to food options (are we just getting older?).

On the other hand, it was so quiet and early and tame compared to carnivals in Bolivia.

This year we were better prepared for what to expect, and that's how it was.

The only thing was that we couldn't remember if there had been a ferris wheel last year. For Anna (and to a lesser extent Jonathan) really, really, really (thinks she) wants to ride a ferris wheel.

Well, there was not one. But they each got excited about another ride. For Jonathan it was the car one. Anna politely watched while he enjoyed that.

And then he nervously watched while she went on...

...the high-flying, fast airplane one! It surprised her a bit when it started going up and faster and faster. But she loved it!

We also saw some animals,

and capped off the nice summer evening with the requisite milkshakes.

It was fun.

Especially for this one.
