Here it begins

Harvest 2015 has begun. A few rounds of soybeans came in yesterday, while today the driest corn on the homeplace got harvested.

You can't see it here, but the skies were quite threatening much of the afternoon.

Here the liner-upper team makes sure the corn dumps into the right place.

It was a bit of a tight fit on the yard, with about 19 different vehicles and machines out.

You can't quite see Jonathan and Anna in the cab, but there they were for a looong time. A combine daycare, as it were. Luckily the care provider could combine at the same time.

In this funny scenario, my dad unloaded the last of the corn from the combine into the truck we were unloading. More sophisticated farmers around here use grain carts for this sort of thing...and do it in the field...while driving.

And those big eyes took it alllll in.
