MCC Bolivia team meetings

In mid-May were the twice/annual MCC Bolivia team meetings, held here at our Santa Cruz headquarters. These were two full days of a speaker, workshops led by team members, good eating, lots of visiting during the day and evenings, singing, and more. Above are (most of) the MCCers, and below are the many, many kids belonging to MCCers.

Ramont was asked to lead a workshop on "appropriate technology." As in, making smoothies by pedaling a bike. This came up because he recently built a stand for an MCC bike in order to use it as a stationary exercise bike. He hooked the back wheel up to a generator to create resistance. And then one can power any small electrical appliance simply by pedaling!

Here he is, making it happen.

Juana Masabi showed some of us how to make sonso, a typical Bolivian snack similar to baked mashed potatoes, only with yucca.

Here I am, pounding away at the yucca. To this paste we added butter, cheese, eggs, and salt, then baked it and cut it into squares for eating. Not for the faint of heart.

And here we are, discussing some really big conflicts and how to work our way out of them.
