Happy Easter!
Sadly I don't have photos of what we did all day, but since the Harder Schrock super professional photo studio was hard at work before church started, this post will be liberally sprinkled with high quality family-ish photos.
Starting with the kids in a Bolivian shirt and Paraguayan dress (thank you, Rosi!!).
This is as good as it gets.
And this is what it takes to get there.
Anyway, we attended Sunday School (at Bethel Mennonite) and church (at First Mennonite) as usual. And as usual, we were/are grateful to be part of these communities.
We then had a huge noon meal at my grandparents' home in Mountain Lake, together with my uncle and aunt and her family. After taking a speed nap at home, we hightailed it to St. James (about 15 miles away) to where my mom is recovering from another hip surgery (more in another post) in a nursing home. I brought some noon meal leftovers and so we had a good time of visiting over terere and faspa. Then back home to enjoy some more time outside before tucking the little ones into bed, exhausted as they were. Today was simply beautiful: mid-70s, sunny, so wind. It really, truly felt and smelled like summer!
And that, she says, is what we call Easter around here.
[I asked Jonathan what God did with Jesus on Easter, and after thinking a moment he said, "bring treats?" We have a bit more biblical education to do.]
