On 9 March, Jonathan turned one year old! He was lucky to have his grandparents Harder, three of his cousins, and aunt and uncle here in Santa Cruz for the event. In fact, Grandpa Harder turned 62 just a few days later, so we celebrated them together.
This first year with Jonathan has been a grand adventure. We've gone from not knowing how to hold a baby to being quite the amazing parents (we wish). And he has grown into an energetic, determined, full-emotioned, intelligent, inquisitive, and humorous little guy. On his birthday he had two bottom teeth (with two top teeth visibly ready to pop through), stood alone for long periods, and had taken a total of three or four steps independently. He has a full vocabulary (language yet to be determined). And he is loved dearly.
