Can it be...

...the start of spring?! We've had a number of warm days recently - even up to the 70s on this weekend. It sure feels like spring has come, though I have to keep reminding myself that it's only mid-March and that our first year back (2013) it snowed in May!

We began the lovely work of sprucing up the back yard on Saturday. Ramont pruned the apple trees and the kids and I hauled the branches and other leaves away. "Hauling" is actually code for "getting to use the Gator," which is the main reason for a certain little boy's existence at times.

We drank terere (cold water tea) outside for the first time this year, rather than the usual mate (hot water tea). This means the kids get to drink as well.

It was a very lovely afternoon.

And then we got ready for the annual MCC fundraising verenike supper at church in the evening. We stuffed ourselves silly and then washed dishes and cleared tables for a few hours, quite enjoying watching (and occasionally talking with) the 150 or so folks that came.
