Hours and hours and hours of new excitement. Yesterday (the rare half-day we were home), he and Anna were outside the entire four hours - not even coming inside for snack or the bathroom.
We're very proud of him, of course. But where I have to swallow my words is when it comes to Anna. I'm pretty sure she could do it just as easily, but we're going through a phase (oh please, let it just be a phase) of the eldest needing to be first, best, only...
And I just don't want to be the bicycle referee. So she'll have to wait until at least the city-wide garage sale next weekend, at latest until he's in kindergarten all day in fall. Poor girl: destined to walk in her mama's shoes (ahem, Willmar).
In other news, Ramont and my dad finished planting our fields this week! We finally got to have a couple picnic lunches outside, including here at the Delft land.
Looks like Anna is keeping careful watch of the lion stalking through the tall grass. Or is that just a hat lying there...?
At Jonathan's request I nailed together two pieces of wood for an airplane.
1 nail + 2 pieces wood = hours of entertainment. Between that and the bike, he's pretty well been occupied this first week after preschool ended.
Ramont stops drilling soybeans to come for lunch.
Anna and I got to know each other pretty well on a 2.5 hour trip to get more seed.
[As close as I get to an artistic shot :) ]
And now it's all in the ground for another year!
